Lebanon, Mo., Feb. 28, 2007 - Lowe Boats was recently awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification for its approach to process improvement, product quality and customer satisfaction.
ISO 9001:2000 is an internationally recognized and structured method of organizing and operating all processes that affect design, production, delivery and service of products.
The certification, which requires Lowe Boats to meet specific international quality management standards and guidelines, was validated by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), an internationally accredited registrar for certification.
"We are extremely proud to have earned this certification," said Les Crawford, president of Lowe Boats. "We join an elite group of marine manufacturers who have formally committed to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement by obtaining their ISO certification."
Lowe Boats, which began its pursuit of ISO certification in 2005, is the first full-line aluminum boat company to receive this designation.
"We are committed to making more consistent high-quality products," said Nick Major, director of quality for Lowe Boats. "The ISO certification process helped integrate the principle of continuous improvement into our daily activities, as well as our relationships with our business partners and suppliers. We all remain focused on providing quality products to our customers."
"Our goal is to better serve our dealers and our retail customers," said Crawford. "We believe this is the goal on which the marine industry should focus."
Lowe Boats joins Sea Ray, Baja and Mercury Marine in the growing list of Brunswick Corporation brands to be ISO 9001:2000 certified.
"This recognition is a testament to the hard work and commitment of Lowe employees who continually strive to improve the boating experience for our customers," said Crawford.
